Does basic training go by fast?
It does both.
It depends on your personality and how quickly you pick things up.
For me, 8 weeks passed by pretty quick.
If your Drill is competent and your platoon is not messing up too bad, I can imagine it goes fast as a competent Drill will keep your days occupied where time passes fast..

Of course it is normal to feel nervous because there is an unknown element of Basic Training. You have some idea about what it’s like, but not all of it. You have to fire weapons, exercise a lot, and overcome serous feats of strength and ingenuity.
